This is a 2-story hotel in the Art Deco style built in 1934. The foundation is concrete pile. Exterior walls are stucco. The building has a flat with parapet roof. The parapet wall is stepped back in a ziggurat pattern with vertical fluting at cornice. Windows are aluminum casements. The primary entryway is located on the southeast facade facing Park Avenue. The entrance is a double glass door surrounded by glass block and overhang above the doorway. Simple yet decorative example of Art Deco style with an abstract "L" shape floor plan with a triangle cut off corner to adapt to site and the Collins Canal. Features a stepped ziggurat parapet wall at roofline; vertically fluted cornice; monumental pilasters on the symmetric front facade facing Park Avenue; glass block surrounding the primary entryway; large bas-relief panels on front facade. The builder is recorded as McCarthy. The architect is recorded as Harry O. Nelson.
