Historical Summary:
The walls are brick on the first floor and woof on the second. The front facade was remodeled ca. 1923 to feature half-timbering. The storefront was rehabed in the 1990s and the whole front elevation was remodeled ca. 2010. The Pioneer Building was surveyed as part of the 2005 Downtown Oak Park Architectural Survey and was noted as significant at that time. However, the major facade alterations since 2005 have resulted in a substantial loss of historic integrity. The original architect and builder are unknown.
