Original building on lot was designed by G.H. Hyde and built by O'Neill and Orr Construction Company in 1939. The building was significantly altered in the moderne style, and served as an apartment complex and eventually a retirement home until it was demolished.

This is a 2-story, 3-bay hotel in the Other style built in 1994. The building is rectangular in plan. The building has a flat with parapet roof. Windows are aluminum casements. Northernmost window on the east elevation protrudes from the building to create a triangular shape that sticks out and is ornamented with glass block. There is a single-story, full-span open porch. Narrow porch with metal railing along east elevation. Three primary entryways on the east elevation, each servicing a different retail shop; Hidden entryway for the upstairs hostel.
