Architectural Description

This is a 3-story domestic: Hotel building in the Art Deco style with Streamlined Moderne influences built in 1937. The foundation is spread footing. Exterior walls are stucco. The building has a flat with parapet roof. Windows are replacement aluminum jalacy casement. No porch No visible primary entryway from the public right of way; Building is now part of the Essex House hotel and can be accessed through the hotel's primary entryway on the northeast corner of Collins Avenue and 10th street Continuous eyebrows rounded at corners; Horizontal banding below windows and at building's corners; Low bas-relief circles and squares on parapet wall. The builder is recorded as Masterbuilt Housing Corporation. The architect is recorded as Henry Hohauser.
