Architectural Description

This is a 7-story Collins Avenue Hotel hotel in the Mediterranean Revival style built in 1934. The foundation is reinforced concrete. Exterior walls are stucco. The building has a built-up roof clad in replacement clay barrel tile. Single-hung sash windows occur most frequently on the third through seventh floor levels, while jalacy casement windows with fixed arched windows above occur on the first and second floor levels No distinctive porch; Entryway up a flight of stairs, combined with the addition of handicapped accessible ramps has created an open patio-like space on the southern end of the east elevation Primary entryway for the residences is up a grand flight of stairs on the southern end of the east elevation; Glass double door with fixed arched window above; Flanked on either side by wrought-iron fixtures and ornamentation; Separate entryways exist for each of the retail spaces on the first floor level of the northern end of the east elevation Symmetrical tripartite facade design; Archway and arched windows/doors; Clay barrel tile roof; Wrought-iron fixtures; Spanish tile flooring; Decorative balconettees on the outer bays of the sixth floor level and center bay of the seventh floor level; Rough stucco walls The builder is recorded as O'Neill and Orr Construction Company.
