Historical Summary:

The original building on the site was designed by Henry La Pointe and built by the J.M. Knight Company in 1922 as a 4-unit apartment complex, known as the Ocean Park Apartments. The building was demolished in 1952, and the structure that currently stands was built as a 20 unit efficiency apartment complex under the same name.

Architectural Description:

This is a 2-story domestic building in the Miami Modern style with Garden Style influences built in 1952. The building is rectangular in plan. The structural system is concrete block stucco. The foundation is spread footing. Exterior walls are stucco. The building has a shed roof. Windows are replacement aluminum sliding. Horizontal band of windows at the second floor on the east elevation show evidence of the influence of the International Style on the building's design. Primary entryway is an unornamented glass door set off to the south of the center of primary facade.
