Originally the Richmond Hotel had 76 rooms and no restaurant. In 1954, Melvin Grossman did a 6-story addition of 25 new hotel rooms, remodeled ten of the hotel rooms in the old building, and the lobby area. Later that year Grossman also did an addition of cabanas and a new storage room.

General Remarks:
An overhang supported by two square columns covers the center of the porch entryway. The overhang has rectangular apertures that illuminate the entry. On the front end of the overhang is “The Richmond” neon signage. The central bay of the structure has vertical bands on the each side. The corner windows have eyebrows that wrap the edge of the building.
