Historical Summary:
Originally the Raleigh Hotel had 114 hotel rooms, and six apartment units with dining rooms. The original 45’ x 85’ x 9’ swimming pool was done by the National Swimming Pool Corp and R.A. Belsham engineer. In 1949, Robt. Swartburg enclosed the porch in glass and a concrete roof.

Primary entryway:
The primary entryway is a double glass door centered on the elevated porch located on the west facade. The doorway is framed in pink keystone and is flanked by large fixed aluminum windows. The entry is partially covered by a flat roof supported by steel pipe columns. This roof structure holds “The Raleigh” signage. The entryway has a large original terrazzo floor design with an “R”. The interior also has original terrazzo flooring along with decorative columns and a small antique bar.

The northwest corner is rounded and the north elevation has porthole windows. In the middle of the windows on the eight floor of the west elevation are vertical bas-relief panels. Vertical accents ornament the windows on the left side of the west facade.
