How does it work?

Sign in to your account with any connected iPad, tablet, or computer.

Pop in an address. Describe the resource. Attach photos and files.

Point and click your way through as much architectural description or evaluation as you wish. There's plenty of room to expand and describe.

Hit save. The rest is automatic: survey forms, maps, summaries, and image galleries.

See it in action.

Point-and-click for consistent input.

RuskinARC(tm) demonstrations...

Enter a location. Describe the building. Attach photos and add remarks. Hit save. The rest is automatic (including survey forms, map, and image gallery).

Create interactive maps and boundaries.

RuskinARC creates interactive maps automatically as you work and stores accurate location data. Draw boundaries and overlays to indicate historic districts, design review zones, potential districts, or whatever you need.

Consolidate your records.

RuskinARC consolidates your historic buildings and districts into a single input, mapping, identification, and visualization system. It makes your historic assets searchable and friendly -- with professional historic resource inventory management on the back end.

Create custom fields.

Record information you use, plus what is important to your locality or project, by adding your own custom data fields (Premium service level only). They are mappable, sortable, and searchable just like the rest.

Export to GIS (and more).

Got GIS? We do. We know how critical and powerful it can be. RuskinARC exports data for import into GIS, allowing you to overlay information on top of other parcel, streets, project, or planning layers. It also exports flexible, non-propietary data at any time including your photos and files.

Upload & manage photos and files.

Current photos, historic images, streetscapes, research files, plan drawings, historic narratives, nomination forms. Whatever you've got, keep it all attached to the building record.

Generate instant visual analysis.

Instantly see all resources by style, type, form, architect, eligibility, construction date, and more. Pop up photos, download files, read stories, and create district or design review zone boundaries.

Download & print survey forms.

RuskinARCcreates them for you as PDFs. You can grab a whole batch if you wish, or print them one by one. With a Premium plan you can use a custom inventory form to match your location, client, or project. More on survey forms here.

View high resolution image galleries.

Photos and images are catalogued automatically to show an instant sense of the historic character of a place.

Record dates, styles, architects, designations, and more.

Capture and record all of the important information you need for your work or project. Location, history, evaluations of significance, architectural descriptions, conditions, integrity, and much more.

Track revisions and updates.

RuskinARC keeps revisions of everything, every time someone makes a change. For any historic building, site, structure, or object, you can always see former versions. This lets you track changes as you build your catalog or at different points in time.

These operations save an enormous amount of time, which translates to cost savings. Additionally we are able to allow volunteers to use it with minimal training. Their results are easy to monitor with minimal effort needed to correct any mistakes they might have made. Overall, the program exceeds our expectations and has opened new doors for how we manage our historic district.
